HISTORY OF MALTA: Malta has established itself today as a freight port and tourist destination but received many "visitors" throughout time before this. Business and commerce can be conducted in Malti, English, Italian and even in french as a big part of the population is multilingual due to the islands constant shifting of hands between the Arabs,Muslims, French, Italians, and British. Malta is believed to have been founded by stone age farmers in 5,200 B.C thanks to carbon dating of stone tools found on the island. High civilization did not reach Malta until the Phoenicians arrived from what is now modern Lebanon in 800 A.D . The Arabs took Malta in 870, after-which the Normans took control in 1090, followed by the French in 1266, afterwards the Spanish captured Malta then gave it to the Italian order by the name of : Knights of St. John, in 1283 and 1530 respectively. In 1798 the French commander Napoleon de Bonaparte took Malta and lost it to the British in 1800 whose rule continued until 1964 when Malta gained independence.

Education
The state of education in Malta is similar to other English speaking first world countries like Europe. Students first enroll to primary school at the age of 5 like many educational systems, they then move into secondary education at the age of 11 until they are 16. It is at this time that students enroll in either a general education until 18 years of age OR enroll at a vocational school to learn a trade until being hired. After this a student can continue their education in tertiary schooling at 18 years or join the workforce. Post graduate education is offered at upwards of 22 years of age.
